How to get to Puhikereru

Endeavour Inlet is accessible only by water transport. There are at least three regular launch or water taxi services that each come into our bay several times a day, depending on the time of the year.

The websites for each are as follows:

Cougarline departs Picton every day at 8.00am, 10.00am, 1.30pm and 6pm, arriving here generally about 1-1.5 hrs later, depending on how many other pick-ups and drop-offs there are. It is a lovely scenic cruise of the Sounds along the way. Contact them or book through their website.

Beachcomber Cruises has similar departure and arrival times. Contact them or book through their website.

Check their websites and compare prices for travel to Endeavour Inlet. Fares are generally similar, but each service has a different timetable. For the busy summer holiday time of the year, you would need to book at least a week or two ahead.

Arrival via the Queen Charlotte Track

We live alongside the Queen Charlotte Track, so sometimes our visitors arrive on foot, having been dropped off elsewhere, usually Ship Cove, by one of the above launch services. We are about four hours' walk from Ship Cove.

If you are walking from that direction, you have arrived at our special place when you come to a red boat shed and a jetty right beside the track – it is the first one you will have come directly to since leaving Ship Cove. Come up the shingle path that veers northward up the slope, almost directly behind the boat shed.

It is always best to email or phone us before you leave Picton, so that we have an idea of when to expect you.
